Who is Ajay Kumar?
HI, MY NAME IS AJAY KUMAR. I AM THE FOUNDER AND OWNER OF BREATH ‘N’ SOUL YOGA & WELLNESS CENTRE AND OXI GYM
I have been in this field of health and wellness for last 20 years. My interest in sports and fitness spun during my early years when I started playing hockey for my school team. I was the captain of my college hockey team. Later I went on to play at Inter university and national level. I was also the fastest athlete in my college and competed in 100m, 200m and 400m categories. Because of my consistent performance in academics and sports, I went on to win the “Roll of Honor” award twice (highest award given to any student) during my graduation.
Being academically inclined, I hold an MSc (Mathematics) and an MBA degree. Just like other youths, I was supposed to choose my professional career and in the process I cleared few government job examinations. However my bent of mind and passion was sports and fitness and achieve new heights in this arena Health and Wellness. In order to achieve this I took initiative with the active support of my family, I chose to go in for various International certifications in field of Fitness, Yoga, Wellness and Management from the well renowned institutes . Some of those are listed out hereunder, which eloquently speak of my passion for scaling new heights in this arena. I started my coaching career in 2005 .The interest towards holistic wellbeing of the human body led me to pursue Yoga in 2006 and since then I have been an active practitioner and trainer.
Experience
During an active career of more than 17 years, I have been a regular corporate wellness trainer, coaching employees on health and general wellness in companies like Flextronics, Ericsson, Reebok etc. I also operate a fitness centre - Oxi Gym. My passion for learning helps me upskill time and again and I am in fact, among the very few Posture Analysis and alignment and adjustment exercise Specialists in India. I am also a “Rehab Master Trainer” and an expert in Injury Management. Due to my exhaustive experience in field of wellness I have conducted programs for various news channels especially on NDTV and fitness talks on FM radio.
I have also been fitness consultants for many emerging platforms like HealthKart etc.
While during the journey, I have worked on various forms of exercises, I have been spending a large portion of my time in learning and teaching Yoga now. With over 14,000 hours of Yoga teaching under his belt, he is an E-RYT500 and YACEP from Yoga Alliance USA .
I understand the importance of Yoga not just as another fitness regime but also as a rehab for your several physical and mental medical conditions. To study more about the human body and biomechanics I did various courses in Orthopedic exercise science.


MY TRAINING PHILOSOPHY
I visited various yoga studios which mushroomed over the years in Delhi NCR and other parts of India . I noticed one thing common in most of them,they are offering yoga just like other fitness program. Authentic yoga which is based on the Holistic approach is missing from most of the studios.
With my vast experience in this field of Health and Wellness I developed my own personal style of teaching while maintaining the real essence of yoga and wellness. As I boast expertise in various forms of exercise and injury management , I combined different elements to give people optimal health and wellbeing. My special program includes all the important aspect of physical and mental health like movement awareness, posture awareness, breath awareness, meditation, self awareness and self inquiry.I want to encourage people to bring healthy practices at home, at their work place , in their regular lives.
People often tell that they are doing exercise, yoga for good period of time. But I noticed most of them lack awareness about their body and its requirements.
My aim is to create health awareness and to provide optimum health and wellbeing to everyone.
My personal philosophy is “Love yourself before you love the rest of the world”. There is so much in life to enjoy and you can do it in much better way with a healthy mind, & body. A Healthy body is the greatest gift ,we can give to ourselves and those who love us. I want to help people realize how good exercise will make them feel. I recognized that many people have 'real' reasons why they cannot comfortably participate in various forms of exercise, including walking. Often, I hear claims from people that it is impossible to work out (their feet hurt, they have back and neck pain, their knees bother them, or they're too overweight and out of shape to begin with). I love to be able to inspire them and say, “You can…….….Anything you set your mind to you will achieve.
We all are living in a fast paced ,noisy world full of husteI. We are spending so much time in running our daily lives. Often we forgethow much health matters. Through yoga and wellness I want to make people find new levels of possibility in bodies and minds. I want to address people’s postural imbalances and alignment issues to make them do the activities they love the most without any pain.I wish to empower them to enhance the quality of their lives and achieve the state ofbliss, joy, harmony ,peace and harmony.
